How & When to Wear a Waistcoat

Are you wearing a tweed waistcoat under your tweed jacket or a wool piece under your everyday suit? Depending on your waistcoat of choice there are two main tips from the brand that can help you choose the right waistcoat:

Fit: The right waistcoat should have high armholes and fit snugly around your torso and shoulders. It shouldn’t pull at the back fabric or at the buttons, however, it is best to avoid excess material at all costs.

Button Up: When wearing a waistcoat, unbuttoned is not the look they were made for, like a men’s suit jacket, the last button should be left undone, this prevents it from pulling when you lift up your arms, but the rest needs to be buttoned.
